COVIDaphobia Mania Running Wild Again?!

Today (Tuesday, 19 July 2022) I saw this post on Facebook highlighting the heroic actions of one Elisjsha Dicken, who neutralized the Greenwood Park Mall shooter in Indiana as a benefit of exercising his individual, human, Constitutional right to own and carry weapons.

H/T "100% Anti-Democrat" Facebook page — Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at 7:46 PM MST

OK, so the top part of the post is good to go —

Ison explained to WRTV, Dicken's first shot at the gunman was from 40-50 yards away and it appeared the very first shot hit the gunman.

Dicken was able to hit the gunman with additional rounds.

And more still —

Not the Bee
Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at 6:08 PM MST

22-year-old Elisjsha Dicken neutralized the Greenwood Park Mall shooter within 15 seconds. He engaged the bad guy from 40-50 yards away and 8 of the 10 rounds he fired found their target. He has no CPL and was carrying a pistol under Constitutional Carry. He is not ex-military or police, and has no formal training. His grandfather taught him how to shoot. Raise a glass this evening to American hero Elisjsha Dicken.

OK, folks, this is the bizarre part —

NOWHERE in the text posted by the "Not The Bee" page's admin(s) is there ANY mention of the Beer Bug.

So did Facebook's "fact checkers" mistakenly attach a warning about Koof misinformation to this post?

Or maybe Facebook is trying to smear a story supporting the Second Amendment narrative by hook or by crook, using the approach of "throw your underwear against the wall and see if it sticks" ?

Lindsey Graham's 30 Pieces of Silver, v. 2022?

It seems that Lindsey Graham, the "senior" Republican U.S. Senator from South Carolina, is getting his just rewards for supporting "common sense gun safety" legislation, namely "an agreement on principle for gun safety legislation Sunday, which includes 'needed mental health resources, improves school safety and support for students, and helps ensure dangerous criminals and those who are adjudicated as mentally ill can't purchase weapons.'"

Aside from the fact that Graham won't be up for re-election until 2026 (four years is almost an eternity where electoral politics is concerned), it seems that his recent "move to the center" in his quest to appease the hoplophobes and victim disarmers isn't quite reaping the rewards he wants (the hoplophobes and victim disarmers saying good things about him) —

H/T Steven Barnes — Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at 1:33 PM MST

You see, instead of congratulating Graham for "moving to the center" and "meeting them halfway," the hoplophobes and victim disarmers are pissed at him for only giving them half a loaf, instead of the whole loaf and then some, such as outlawing civilian ownership of "assault weapons" such as AR-15-, M4- and AK-47-pattern rifles, and legalizing third-party litigation against gun manufacturers and retailers

So while Graham may get some accolades from the Necrotic Republican Association National Rifle Association for his pro-gun-when-it's-convenient rhetoric, I suspect that he won't get much traction with the rest of the right-to-own-and-carry-weapons crowd [GOA, FPC, etc.].

Ain't that a cryin' shame, now?

As they say in the South, "Bless your heart, Lindsey Graham."

Let's not forget that this isn't the first time that Graham has sided with the GOP's Invertebrate Caucus when it comes to defending the Second Amendment — he tried this sort of thing nine years ago.

Never mind that the proposed "universal" background check is the State demanding prior restraint on the exercise of a natural right — "How do we know that you're not an axe-murdering child rapist?!" — in other words, "prove your innocence first."

And, of course, the victim disarmers have included a plan for the federal Political Classholes to use your money tax dollars to bribe state-level Political Classholes to set up "red flag laws" (laws allowing someone to file a complaint against you and have your firearms taken away) in their states.

So what's their plan to take away the knives, axes, power tools, baseball bats, and anything else that can be used as a weapon from those alleged to be inclined towards criminal violence?

Oh, that's right, they don't have one. That's because their intent isn't to stop criminal violence, or to protect people.

As the infamous Senator Howard Metzenbaum said in 1989 —

"No, we're not looking at how to control criminals . . . we're talking about banning the AK-47 and semi-automatic guns."
— Constitution Subcommittee, 2 February, 1989

It’s interesting that in the places where the gun prohibitionist hold sway over the levers of power, it's not only firearms that are proscibed from possession by the Great Unwashed. They also prohibit private citizens who aren’t Political Classholes or in the employ of same to own or carry pepper spray, stunguns, tasers, switchblade knives, fixed-blade knives they don’t like, nunchuks, and batons. Now in New York State and California, they’re going after body armor.

Their intent is to render you and yours totally defenseless, dependent on your cell phone and ability to dial 9-1-1, and thus dependent upon them for protection, while regulating every aspect of your life.

Because they really do know better than you do how you should live.

For the Republicans who are on board, to whatever degree, with the hoplophobes and victim disarmers in the hopes of getting favorable media coverage, all I can say is "Don't need any support from me."

Bless your heart, Lindsey Graham. Bless your heart.

Don't Ask Why I Need an AR-15, Ask Why Cops Need AFVs

H/T Libertarian Party of Kentucky — Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 12:17 PM MST

"But wait, there's more!" as the televised pitchmen say.

Those same hoplophobe and victim disarmers who demand that you surrender your AR-15- and your AK-47-style rifles so that they can have their momentary "warm fuzzy" that they "got something done" and "made a difference" — their sock puppets in the New York State Legislature want New Yorkers that aren't Political Classholes or in the service of same to surrender any privately-owned body armor in their possession:

Reason: New York's Body Armor Ban May Be Stupidest Gun Legislation Yet

19 April -- ATF is America's Schutzstaffel

H/T GhostGuns.comSaturday, April 16, 2022 at 6:28 PM MST

Naturally, we can't forget Mike McNulty's Waco: The Rules of Engagement[1]

— and McNulty's follow-up film, Waco: A New Revelation[2]

Today we remember that on Monday, 19 April 1993, the Clinton Administration was so concerned about child welfare that they were willing to kill 27 kids by asphyxiation, incineration, and automatic-weapons fire to get at three adults accused of tax and paperwork violations.

One-sided Shootout at Coronado Mall!

More "gun violence" at an Albuquerque mall on Thursday, 31 March 2022, as reported by the Albuquerque Journal, and reposted by the Journal to Facebook[1]

Five teens accused of beating at Coronado Center, by Matthew Reisen, Journal Staff Writer by Matthew Reisen, Journal Staff Writer

At least this time, no one seems to have been injured or killed as a result of shots fired.

Meanwhile, there have been several firearm-related homicides (involving shots fired at the victims) at other locations around Albuquerque — in the Downtown area, for example.

"Rbj Benjamin" posted a comment

Where’s our concealed carriers when you need them?

To which I replied

Concealed carry is not permitted on the property, per Coronado Center policy.

Blame Coronado for this one with their "No weapons allowed on site" policy, not concealed-carriers for their "failure" to be first responders to this incident.

And then there's my follow-up comment

So when Ross and Morales were allegedly pistol-whipping the Fuddruckers employees, should that be considered "gun violence" (firearm(s) were involved) or "blunt-object violence" (no shots were fired at that time) ?

ONCE AGAIN, we see just how "effective" this sort of "No weapons allowed" policy is (it is NOT effective, for those too dense to understand sarcasm) in stopping firearm-related crime.

As for the "gun free" status of Coronado (and Winrock, Cottonwood, etc.), if someone is injured or killed by a criminal there, and that injury or death could have been prevented had the victim been armed, I hope the victim or their survivor(s) sue the property owners into non-existence.

Something not yet brought up: Ross and Morales are both under the age of 21. This means their mere possession of handguns was a federal offense. ANOTHER failure of the victim disarmament statutes.

Apparently, I made a mistake — per 18 U.S.C. § 922(x)(2)[2], Ross was legal in possessing a handgun.

Still, Ross' alleged pistol-whipping of the Fuddruckers staff was definitely NOT legal, and would probably constitute battery, if not aggravated battery

30-3-4. Battery.

Battery is the unlawful, intentional touching or application of force to the person of another, when done in a rude, insolent or angry manner.

Whoever commits battery is guilty of a petty misdemeanor.

30-3-5. Aggravated battery.
  1. Aggravated battery consists of the unlawful touching or application of force to the person of another with intent to injure that person or another.

  2. Whoever commits aggravated battery, inflicting an injury to the person which is not likely to cause death or great bodily harm, but does cause painful temporary disfigurement or temporary loss or impairment of the functions of any member or organ of the body, is guilty of a misdemeanor.

  3. Whoever commits aggravated battery inflicting great bodily harm or does so with a deadly weapon or does so in any manner whereby great bodily harm or death can be inflicted is guilty of a third degree felony.

What's the takeaway here?

The lessons to be learned from this incident are as follows:

FIRST, victim disarmament edicts, whether they are in the form of public-sector statutes and regulations, or a private-sector "NO WEAPONS ALLOWED" policy, don't do much of anything to deter violent criminals from committing crimes.

If anything, they do the exact opposite — they make it easier for the criminals to victimize others.

Think of them as a sort of "workplace safety" code for the bad guys, making what are supposed to be "safe spaces" for shoppers and tourists into a  happy hunting ground for the crooks.

As the saying goes, "When seconds count, the cops are minutes away."

But . . . but . . . what about the "NO WEAPONS ALLOWED" sign? Surely, those intent on committing assault, battery, robbery, burglary, and possibly murder will see that sign, and then leave their guns in the car, right?

Well, you see, the criminal element always seems to find that massive loophole in all of the various victim-disarmament schemes called "breaking the law."

If they're willing to kill you over pocket change, what makes you think that they're going to obey your hoplophobic prohibitionary edicts?

As the saying goes, "When seconds count, the cops are minutes away."

And the reality of it all is this: You are your own best defender. Sure, you can contract the task out to someone else, but that person wants to go home to their family, too. That person will put their own personal safety above yours, if it comes down to it.

Help Yourself to an Abandoned Russian Tank? Why Not?

A few days ago, Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty [RFE / RL] re-posted a video clip ("Ukrainian Tractors Versus Russian Armor") on Facebook and YouTube

So when the hoplophobes and victim disarmers start screeching "u think you should be able 2 own a TANK?!?!?!!!!!!" because you support civilian ownership and carriage of handguns and military-pattern rifles, you can simply point to those Ukrainian farmers making off with abandoned Russian tanks, BMPs, and trucks.

Never mind that in the controlling precedent from American case law that "supports" their "argument," United States v. Miller, Justice James McReynolds said that the National Firearms Act of 1934 was "Constitutional" because the sawed-off shotgun possessed by Miller didn't qualify as a "militia weapon" protected by the Second Amendment because it didn't have "military utility."

Never mind that the sawed-off shotgun could be said to have "military utility" as it was in military usage by American and ANZAC troops in World War I in the Western Front trenches. Or that many military and law-enforcement agencies have been using short-barrelled shotguns as breaching and entry weapons for close-quarter-battle stuff for the past few decades.

Never mind that the AR-15-pattern and M4-pattern rifles that the hoplophobes and victim disarmers demand that you turn in for pennies on the FRN because they're "weapons of war" are almost functionally identical to the M-16 / M-4-type rifles used by the U.S. Armed Forces should also be protected by the Second Amendment as per U.S. v. Miller.

Never mind that in the same conflict that spawned the above-embedded video clip, the Zelenskyy Administration is handing out not only AK-pattern rifles and handguns (basically the same sort of rifles and pistols that the above-mentioned hoplophobes and victim disarmers want to take away from you) but also belt-fed machine guns and anti-tank rocket launchers to anyone who can carry them and is willing to use them to shoot at Russian troops.

Side note: I have one simple question for the hoplophobes and victim disarmers who are so bravely cheering on the Ukrainian civilian resistance, yet are so insistent that American civilians voluntarily disarm:

Why is OK for the Ukrainians to carry rifles, pistols, belt-fed machine guns and anti-tank rocket launchers, yet you have all sorts of problems with my owning or carrying my 9mm pistol here in the States?

Actually, I suspect that there are several reasons:

  1. The Ukies are OVER THERE — several thousand miles away, out of sight and mind, with plenty of terrain features, the curvature of the Earth, etc., between them and the local Starbucks, where I, on the other hand, could be right outside that same Starbucks. No chance of them being "triggered" by the sight of armed Ukies.

  2. The Ukrainians are shooting at Russians, who are operating under the aegis of the 21st century Hitler, Vlad Putin. Trump isn't a ready target for their ragefest, so they have to make do with Putin for the time being.

And it seems, contrary to what the First Drooling Child-Sniffer said in 2020, American private citizens DID own not only cannon but also warships in the 18th and 19th centuries[1].

The power of the sword, say the minority ..., is in the hands of Congress. My friends and countrymen, it is not so, for The powers of the sword are in the hands of the yeomanry of America from sixteen to sixty. The militia of these free commonwealths, entitled and accustomed to their arms, when compared with any possible army, must be tremendous and irresistible. Who are the militia? Are they not ourselves? Is it feared, then, that we shall turn our arms each man against his own bosom. Congress has no power to disarm the militia. Their swords and every terrible implement of the soldier are the birthright of Americans.
Tench Coxe, Letter to the Pennsylvania Gazette, 20 February 1788

Still, if you DO decide to get yourself any sort of tracked armored vehicle, have fun changing track segments and road wheels.

THIS is Why I Own and Carry Weapons

Reiterating the title of this post:

THIS is why I own and carry weapons wherever I can.

I'm 51 years old. I'm too old and fat to do a strip-tease for some death camp guard in order to snatch his / her / xis / xer / zis / zer sidearm away.

I'd rather have the option, at least, of taking out a bad guy with me as part of my going out of this plane of existence

Arriving at Auschwitz in 1943, Polish-Jewish ballet dancer Franceska Mann was ordered to disrobe for the crematorium.

She took off her clothes provocatively to distract the Nazi guard, then snatched the roll-call officer's pistol & shot him dead.

She fired a second shot that wounded an SS sergeant. Other prisoners began a riot that was broken up when the guards opened fire with machine guns. Mann died on the spot.

But she stood up to evil and went down with a fight!

'No One Wants To Take Your Guns,' v. 06-24-2019

span style="font-family: Arial;">

This one is an oldie (dated Monday, 24 June 2019) but a good one, as it puts the victim disarmer attitude up front, where we can see it (and ridicule it!) —

YEP. I'M COMING FOR YOUR AR15

You heard me. No apologies. The same reason you don't need a lion to protect your home, is why you don't need a rifle that shoots at 3X the speed of sound and splits concrete like ice. It's an unreasonable risk.

End the mass shooter era in America

But wait, there's more!

Just about every time one of the DNC-affiliated victim disarmers spouts off with this sort of nonsense, there's a "conservative" Republican who chimes in to offer support

Replying to @Nate_McMurray

As unpopular as it may be with my fellow conservative Republicans, I'm kind of with you on this.

I want us to always have the right to bear arms, has to be some limitations. I don't want people to own hand grenades, or AR15's with a bump stock and 100 round magazine.

Messing About with Article II, Section 6

A few weeks ago, Albuquerque City Councilor Diane Gibson has gotten herself some no-charge campaign advertising, courtesy of the lamestream snoozemedia [1], on account of her calling for a State-level Constitutional Amendment to change Article II, Section 6 of the Constitution of the State of New Mexico from its current text:

No law shall abridge the right of the citizen to keep and bear arms for security and defense, for lawful hunting and recreational use and for other lawful purposes, but nothing herein shall be held to permit the carrying of concealed weapons. No municipality or county shall regulate, in any way, an incident of the right to keep and bear arms.

— to something that gives municipal and county governments more leeway to enact victim disarmament statutes:

No law shall abridge the right of the citizen to keep and bear arms for security and defense, for lawful hunting and recreational use and for other lawful purposes, but nothing herein shall be held to permit the carrying of concealed weapons.

Considering that the sorts of victim disarmament statutes desired by Gibson and her hoplophobe cronies only disarm those who need to own and carry weapons the most — the five-foot, hundred-pound woman who's being stalked by her crazed six-foot, two-hundred-pound ex-boyfriend — and don't actually disarm the criminal and terrorist types one bit, those of us who support and exercise the individual, civil, Constitutional, human right to own and carry weapons for ".... for security and defense, for lawful hunting and recreational use and for other lawful purposes ...." would prefer that IF Article II, Section 6 must be amended, that it should read like this afterwards:

No law shall abridge the right of the citizen to keep and bear arms for security and defense, for lawful hunting and recreational use and for other lawful purposes. No municipality or county shall regulate, in any way, an incident of the right to keep and bear arms.

"No one wants to take your guns," v. July 3, 2020

From the Albuquerque Journal, Friday, 3 July 2020, p. A11 OP-ED ("SPEAK UP!")

KUDOS TO the Santa Fe County Commission for passing on the purchase of AR-15 weapons for the Santa Fe sheriff's department SWAT officers. . . . Instead of just waiting, as Sheriff Mendoza seems inclined to do because of "the current climate in the nation," I recommend the funds be redirected to a buyback and destruction of this type of weapon from civilians who have no legitimate need for them. "Nobody wants to take your guns" v.1

Whenever I, or others, object to "registration" or bans on transfers, or other forms of "gun control" and firearms restrictions as steps toward an eventual complete prohibition and the confiscation that such would necessarily entail, we get told we're paranoid and "nobody wants to take your guns."

Well, perhaps we should consider these "nobodies":

"A gun-control movement worthy of the name would insist that President Clinton move beyond his proposals for controls . . . and immediately call on Congress to pass far-reaching industry regulation like the Firearms Safety and Consumer Protection Act . . . [which] would give the Treasury Department health and safety authority over the gun industry, and any rational regulator with that authority would ban handguns."
Josh Sugarmann (executive director of the Violence Policy Center)

"My view of guns is simple. I hate guns and I cannot imagine why anyone would want to own one. If I had my way, guns for sport would be registered, and all other guns would be banned."
Deborah Prothrow-Stith (Dean of Harvard School of Public Health)

"I don't care if you want to hunt, I don't care if you think it's your right. I say 'Sorry.' it's 1999. We have had enough as a nation. You are not allowed to own a gun, and if you do own a gun I think you should go to prison."
Rosie O'Donnell (At about the time she said this, Rosie engaged the services of a bodyguard who applied for a gun permit.)

Confiscation could be an option. Mandatory sale to the state could be an option. Permitting could be an option — keep your gun but permit it.”
Andrew Cuomo

"I do not believe in people owning guns. Guns should be owned only by [the] police and military. I am going to do everything I can to disarm this state."
Michael Dukakis

"If someone is so fearful that they are going to start using their weapons to protect their rights, it makes me very nervous that these people have weapons at all."
U.S. Rep. Henry Waxman

"In fact, the assault weapons ban will have no significant effect either on the crime rate or on personal security. Nonetheless, it is a good idea . . . Passing a law like the assault weapons ban is a symbolic – purely symbolic – move in that direction. Its only real justification is not to reduce crime but to desensitize the public to the regulation of weapons in preparation for their ultimate confiscation."
Charles Krauthammer, columnist, 4/5/96 Washington Post

"Ban the damn things. Ban them all. You want protection? Get a dog."
Molly Ivins, columnist, 7/19/94

"[To get a] permit to own a firearm, that person should undergo an exhaustive criminal background check. In addition, an applicant should give up his right to privacy and submit his medical records for review to see if the person has ever had a problem with alcohol, drugs or mental illness . . . The Constitution doesn't count!"
John Silber, former chancellor of Boston University and candidate for Governor of Massachusetts. Speech before the Quequechan Club of Fall River, MA. August 16, 1990

"I think you have to do it a step at a time and I think that is what the NRA is most concerned about. Is that it will happen one very small step at a time so that by the time, um, people have woken up, quote, to what's happened, it's gone farther than what they feel the consensus of American citizens would be. But it does have to go one step at a time and the banning of semiassault military weapons that are military weapons, not household weapons, is the first step."
Mayor Barbara Fass, Stockton, CA

"Handguns should be outlawed. Our organization will probably take this stand in time but we are not anxious to rouse the opposition before we get the other legislation passed."
Elliot Corbett, Secretary, National Council For A Responsible Firearms Policy (interview appeared in the Washington Evening Star on September 19, 1969)

"Banning guns addresses a fundamental right of all Americans to feel safe."
Senator Diane Feinstein, 1993

"If I could have gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States for an outright ban, picking up every one of them... 'Mr. and Mrs. America, turn 'em all in, I would have done it. I could not do that. The votes weren't here."
U.S. Senator Diane Feinstein (D-CA) CBS-TV's "60 Minutes," 2/5/95

"Banning guns is an idea whose time has come."
U.S. Senator Joseph Biden, 11/18/93, Associated Press interview

"Yes, I'm for an outright ban (on handguns)."
Pete Shields, Chairman emeritus, Handgun Control, Inc., during a 60 Minutes interview.

"We must be able to arrest people before they commit crimes. By registering guns and knowing who has them we can do that. If they have guns they are pretty likely to commit a crime."
Vermont State Senator Mary Ann Carlson

"I am one who believes that as a first step, the United States should move expeditiously to disarm the civilian population, other than police and security officers, of all handguns, pistols, and revolvers . . . No one should have the right to anonymous ownership or use of a gun."
Professor Dean Morris, Director of Law Enforcement Assistance Administration, stated to the U.S. Congress

"I feel very strongly about it [the Brady Bill]. I think – I also associate myself with the other remarks of the Attorney General. I think it's the beginning. It's not the end of the process by any means."
William J. Clinton, 8/11/93

"The Brady Bill is the minimum step Congress should take . . . we need much stricter gun control, and eventually should bar the ownership of handguns, except in a few cases."
U.S. Representative William Clay, quoted in the St. Louis Post Dispatch on May 6, 1991.

"I don't believe gun owners have rights."
Sarah Brady, Hearst Newspapers Special Report "Handguns in America", October 1997

"We must get rid of all the guns."
Sarah Brady, speaking on behalf of HCI with Sheriff Jay Printz & others on "The Phil Donahue Show" September 1994

"The House passage of our bill is a victory for this country! Common sense wins out. I'm just so thrilled and excited. The sale of guns must stop. Halfway measures are not enough."
Sarah Brady 7/1/88

"I don't care about crime, I just want to get the guns."
Senator Howard Metzenbaum, 1994

"We're here to tell the NRA their nightmare is true . . . "
U.S. Representative Charles Schumer, quoted on NBC, 11/30/93

"My bill . . . establishes a 6-month grace period for the turning in of all handguns."
U.S. Representative Major Owens, Congressional Record, 11/10/93

"We're going to have to take one step at a time, and the first step is necessarily, given political realities, going to be very modest. Our ultimate goal, total control of handguns in the United States, is going to take time. The first problem is to slow down the increasing number of handguns in this country. The second problem is to get handguns registered, and the final problem is to make the possession of all handguns, and all handgun ammunition illegal."
Nelson T. Shields of Hangun Control, Inc. as quoted in `New Yorker' magazine July 26, 1976. Page 53f

"Our goal is to not allow anybody to buy a handgun. In the meantime, we think there ought to be strict licensing and regulation. Ultimately, that may mean it would require court approval to buy a handgun."
President of the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence Michael K. Beard, Washington Times
12/6/93 p.A1

"Waiting periods are only a step. Registration is only a step. The prohibition of private firearms is the goal."
U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno, December 1993

"The sale, manufacture, and possession of handguns ought to be banned . . . We do not believe the 2nd Amendment guarantees an individual the right to keep them."
The Washington Post – "Legal Guns Kill Too" – November 5, 1999

"There is no reason for anyone in the country, for anyone except a police officer or a military person, to buy, to own, to have, to use, a handgun. The only way to control handgun use in this country is to prohibit the guns. And the only way to do that is to Change the Constitution."
USA Today – Michael Gartner – Former president of NBC News – "Glut of Guns: What Can We Do About Them?" – January 16, 1992

"I would personally just say to those who are listening, maybe you want to turn in your guns," Representative Sheila Jackson Lee, 2012

" 4. Any person who, prior to the effective date of this law, was legally in possession of an assault weapon or large capacity magazine shall have ninety days from such effective date to do any of the following without being subject to prosecution:
           (1) Remove the assault weapon or large capacity magazine from the state of Missouri;
           (2) Render the assault weapon permanently inoperable; or
           (3) Surrender the assault weapon or large capacity magazine to the appropriate law enforcement agency for destruction, subject to specific agency regulations."
Legislation introduced in Missouri. 2013

And you can repeat the exact same thing for Minnesota

"Since assault weapons are not a major contributor to US gun homicide and the existing stock of guns is large, an assault weapon ban is unlikely to have an impact on gun violence. If coupled with a gun buyback and no exemptions then it could be effective." NIJ Memo on a new "Assault Weapon" Ban. 2013

"The sheriff of the county may, no more than once per year, conduct an inspection to ensure compliance with this subsection" (Warrantless searches by law enforcement?) Washington State Senate Bill 5737 (2013)

“the state of Iowa should take semi-automatic weapons away from Iowans who have legally purchased them prior to any ban that is enacted if they don’t give their weapons up in a buy-back program.  Even if you have them, I think we need to start taking them,” Iowa state Rep. Dan Muhlbauer (D-Manilla) 2013

California Senate Bill 374 (Steinberg 2013) would expand the definition of “Assault Weapons” to include ALL semi-auto rifles (including rimfire calibers) that accept a detachable magazine. SB374 would ban on the sale and possession of ALL Semi-Auto rifles and require registration to retain legal possession in the future.

California Senate Bill 47 (Yee 2013) would expand the definition of “Assault Weapons” to include rifles that have been designed / sold and or equipped to use the “bullet button” or similar device. SB47 would ban on the sale and possession of ALL those Semi-Auto rifles and require registration to retain legal possession in the future.

California Assembly Bill 174 (Bonta 2013) would ban the possession of any firearms that were “grandfathered “ for possession if registered in previous “Assault Weapons” gun control schemes. Californians that trusted the State of California and registered their firearms will be required to surrender the firearms to the Government or face arrest. Passage of AB174 would make SB374/SB47 (above) into confiscation mandates.

California Senate Bill 396 (Hancock 2013) would ban the possession of any magazine with a capacity to accept more than 10 cartridges. ALL currently grandfathered “high-cap” magazines would become ILLEGAL to possess and the owners subject to arrest and the magazines confiscated. ("High-cap" means a capacity that has been standard, that the firearms were designed for, since the 40's--AK pattern rifles--or 60's--AR pattern rifles.)

We want everything on the table. This is a moment of opportunity. There’s no question about it . . . We’re on a roll now, and I think we’ve got to take the–you know, we’re gonna push as hard as we can and as far as we can.”
Illinois Rep Jan Schakowsky says assault rifle ban just the beginning, ‘moment of opportunity’ and seeks to ban handguns (2013).

"People who own guns are essentially a sickness in our souls who must be cleansed." Colorado Senator (Majority Leader) John Morse. 2013 (Cleansed?  "Final Solution" anyone?)
(Emphasis added in the above).

"We needed a bill that was going to confiscate, confiscate, confiscate.”  Discussion among Senator Loretta Weinberg (D37), Senator Sandra Cunningham (D31), Senator Linda Greenstein (D14) of New Jersey's State Legislature, May 9, 2013

“No one in this country should have guns.” Superior Court Judge, Robert C. Brunetti, Bristol, CT. September, 2013

Proposed Missouri Bill to ban "assault weapons":

4. Any person who, prior to the effective date of this law, was legally in possession of an assault weapon or large capacity magazine shall have ninety days from such effective date to do any of the following without being subject to prosecution:

(1) Remove the assault weapon or large capacity magazine from the state of Missouri;

(2) Render the assault weapon permanently inoperable; or

(3) Surrender the assault weapon or large capacity magazine to the appropriate law enforcement agency for destruction, subject to specific agency regulations.

New York sends out Confiscation letters.

But nobody wants to take our guns?
